Querida Hermana,

Here are a few simple practices that can help us connect in reciprocity with the spirit of the Earth and gently prepare for the week of prayer we will soon share together.

We invite you to choose at least one practice for each element, following what feels most natural to you. The intention is not to force anything, but to softly open the heart in gratitude for what is already present and begin cultivating an aligned spirit for the journey ahead.

WATER

Begin each morning by drinking a glass of water. Water is alive—the giver of life and our first mother. Take a moment to honor her spirit by offering a simple thank you.

Sing to her, speak to her, or pray with her.

If you are near a body of water—such as the ocean, river, spring, or lake—bring a flower and offer your gratitude. Then ask for her blessings.

FIRE

Create a small altar in your home with elements that remind you of the beauty of life—crystals, flowers, seeds, art, or sacred objects. Light a candle with intention, inviting the light of Grandfather Fire to illuminate your path.

If possible, make a small fire outdoors and connect with the spirit of transformation and renewal. You may offer tobacco or cedar with a prayer of gratitude.

Each morning, greet the Sun and take a moment to feel its warmth, connecting with its life-giving energy.

EARTH

One of the greatest gifts we can offer the Earth—and ourselves—is to plant. Place your hands in the soil and feel the presence of this generous Mother who holds and nourishes all life.

Plant seeds in your garden or in a pot, and tend to them with care.

Before eating, you may also offer a small portion of your food on a leaf at the base of a tree, as a gesture of gratitude and reciprocity.

Walk barefoot on grass, earth, sand, or stone, and take a moment to feel the grounding energy of the Earth. If you can, lie down and rest upon her.

And when possible, help care for the places you visit—by picking up trash and being mindful of the waste we create. In this way, we honor the Earth that sustains us.

AIR

Light incense on your altar with intention and cleanse yourself and your space with the natural perfumes of plants—such as copal, sage, palo santo, lavender, pine resin, eucalyptus, or rosemary.

Offer your voice to the four winds. Sing, pray, or allow your voice to move freely as a prayer carried through the air.

If it inspires you, you may also listen to or learn one of the songs from our BLOOM playlist, as a gentle way to begin connecting with the music we will share together.

Sing to Mother Nature, and notice how she may respond—in the songs of birds, the wind through the trees, or the subtle movements of the living world around you.

These practices invite us to slow down and remember our connection with the natural world. In a fast-moving life, we pause to reflect on our path and offer our energy in prayer and gratitude for the medicine and abundance already present in our lives.

As we prepare to gather in the lush beauty of Costa Rica, we honor this opportunity to walk together, remembering the wisdom of the ancestors and our place within the living web of life.

Our voice, body, and heart are sacred—woven with the Great Mother and all that lives.

Con Amor,

Delfina Akarâ
